Inhalt: Even In Exile ist der Nachfolger seines 2006 erschienenen Solo-Debüts The Great Western und obwohl dieses damals direkt auf Platz 2 der UK-Album-Charts einstieg und Auskopplungen bis auf Platz 18 der britschen Single-Charts vorpreschten, wird das neue Werk von Bradfield selbst mit gewohnt sympathischem Understatement präsentiert. Es enthält Texte aus der Feder von Patrick Jones - dem berühmten walisischen Dichter und Dramatiker und Bruder des Manics-Bassisten und -Texters Nicky Wire. Die gesamte Platte wurde durch das Leben und den Tod des chilenischen Musikers, Lehrers und politischen Aktivisten Victor Jara inspiriert. Sowohl Patrick als auch Jara haben Bradfield seit seiner Jugendzeit fasziniert. (jpc)
