Inhalt: Nathan Micay has provided the full original score to the HBO original series - 'INDUSTRY' - centred on young graduates of mixed backgrounds, entering the cut-throat world of London finance. A widescreen electronic composition evocative of 'the city', Nathan Micay's score channels the spirit of Tangerine Dream and Jean Michelle Jarre, drawing from the contemporary electronic music at the dawn of the free market - subverting this palette into 2020s ambient dance music and electronica one would expect to hear after hours. Songs are complimented by excerpts of character dialogue, creating new human relationships within these anthemic tracks. As The Quietus highlighted in 2019: Micay's strength as a composer and producer comes from how he keeps this narrative flowing. Scoring for TV was a natural progression for the multi-instrumentalist & DJ. "My catalogue is best known for dance records, but since 2016 I've enjoyed quietly extending into score work for shorts and features. My goal in music has always been to reach for a cinematic quality. Circumstances aligned nicely then, when the title track to 'Blue Spring' showed up on the radar of the 'INDUSTRY' show runners, who cut a screen test to the track. The timing of coincided with a year of cancelled touring and forced attention to working on this score which is something I've greatly enjoyed. It's been one of the greatest honours to have the confidence of HBO and production company Badwolf behind me, while I try do something unique for the series." - Nathan Micay (Luckyme)
